Porto Attractions Tickets: Every Official Price In 2026

Livraria Lello is the only ticket in the city that can genuinely run out. It sells a time-slotted voucher rather than an entry ticket, and its own pages contradict each other on how late you may buy one: the FAQ says a voucher can be bought up to thirty minutes before closing, while the terms and conditions say twenty-four hours ahead. Both statements are on the official site in Q3 2026. The safe reading is the stricter one — buy the day before, choose a morning slot, and treat any same-day availability as a bonus.

After that, nothing in Porto sells out in the way Lisbon's Belém Tower or Sintra's Pena Palace do. The Clérigos tower, the Sé, Serralves, the tram museum, the cable car and every Gaia lodge except two are walk-ups on any ordinary day. The Palácio da Bolsa is a walk-up too, with a wrinkle that is not about availability: the visit is a compulsory thirty-minute guided tour and the language is decided by who is already waiting, so an English departure can be forty minutes away even when tickets are on sale. Cockburn's and Graham's are the exceptions in Gaia — both require a reservation and will turn away a walk-in.

Porto's paid doors answer to five different owners, and the shop always follows the owner, which is why there is no single basket for a day's tickets. The Irmandade dos Clérigos runs the tower and its museum on torredosclerigos.pt. The Diocese runs the Sé, selling one $3.49 (€3) ticket at a desk inside the cloister and nothing online. The Associação Comercial do Porto runs the Palácio da Bolsa on its own site and its own guides. The city runs the Museu do Porto network, the tram museum belongs to the transport operator STCP, and Serralves is a private foundation with its own shop. Across the river, every port lodge is its own company with its own booking system — Cálem sells through Blueticket, Sandeman and Ferreira through their own calendars, Taylor's through nobody at all.

The practical consequence is that a two-day visit needs three or four separate transactions, none of which talk to each other, and that no receipt from one covers a problem at another. It is also why the Porto.CARD mattered: it was the only product that crossed the owners. With its sales page redirecting to the tourism board's homepage and no official statement about its status, the crossing product has effectively gone, and the honest advice in Q3 2026 is to price the doors individually and ask at the Sé or Trindade tourist office whether the card can still be bought at all.

Start with what is free every day. The Sé's nave, the Igreja dos Grilos, Capela das Almas, the São Bento tile hall, the Bolhão market on any day but Sunday, the Crystal Palace gardens, the Serra do Pilar terrace and both decks of the Luís I bridge cost nothing and between them make a full day. The age rules are where the real discounts sit. Under-12s go free at the Bolsa and at Serralves; under-10s free at Clérigos; under-4s free on the metro; children of 5 to 12 pay half on the cable car and 8 to 17 pay $10.46 (€9) at Taylor's. Students and over-65s pay $8.14 (€7) at Clérigos and $11.04 (€9.50) at the Bolsa, and Serralves halves its fare for 12- to 17-year-olds, students up to 25 and over-65s. An Andante pass takes the tram museum down to $3.72 (€3.20).

The free-day trap is the one to read twice. Until July 2024 the national museums were free on Sunday mornings for everyone. Since August 2024 the free regime — fifty-two days a year — applies to Portuguese citizens and residents, who show a citizen card or a Cartão Porto at the desk. A visitor with a foreign passport pays on Sunday exactly what they pay on Wednesday. The exception worth planning around is Serralves, which is free to everyone on the first Sunday of each month.

The Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar, the circular monastery on the Gaia bluff that appears in every photograph of the bridge, is closed for restoration under the national recovery programme. Both of the heritage authority's ticket pages say so in Q3 2026 and neither gives a reopening date; the culture ministry's own site still prints the old $2.32 (€2) and $4.65 (€4) fares with no notice attached, which is where the outdated blog posts come from. What you can still do is walk onto the terrace outside the church, which is free and unaffected, and which is the vantage point people actually come for.

The Funicular dos Guindais, the cable railway that lifts you from the Ribeira up to Batalha, is closed for maintenance with no reopening date published on the operator's page. Two things follow. First, the climb from the river to the Batalha side is on foot or by bus. Second, when the funicular does run the fare is $4.65 (€4) one way and $6.97 (€6) return — not the $2.91 (€2.50) figure that circulates in older guides, and not covered by an Andante 24 ticket in any case. Both closures are the kind of thing a guide should re-check before a trip rather than trust: the operator's notice is the only source that updates.

You missed a Livraria Lello slot

No official page states a grace period for a late arrival, and no official page states a refund rule for an unused voucher beyond the general terms. What the terms do say is that the voucher is deductible against a book from Lello Editions and not against merchandising, and that the price is set per season. In practice the queue for slot-holders moves continuously, so a few minutes late is usually absorbed.

The Bolsa tour is in the wrong language

The palace allocates languages by arrival order, so if the next departure is Portuguese and the one after is Spanish, your English tour may be third. The ticket is not time-stamped to a departure, so the recovery is simply to wait for the right one — the courtyard and the shop are the waiting room. Arriving before 10:30 keeps the wait to a single cycle in our experience of the departure boards, though the palace publishes no frequency figure.

You arrived at a museum on Monday

The Museu do Porto spaces, Soares dos Reis and the tram museum are closed; Serralves is not a Monday closure but the villa and museum hours move with the season. The doors that stay open on Monday are the Clérigos tower, the Sé, the Bolsa, Livraria Lello and every Gaia lodge — which is enough for a full day and is exactly the day the Monday guide is built around.

You bought a Porto.CARD, or want to

The card's official sales page redirects to the tourism board's homepage in Q3 2026, and the board has published no statement saying the card is suspended or on sale. Third-party sites report the transport version withdrawn in March 2026 and all sales stopped in July 2026, but that is not an official source and we do not print it as one. If you already hold a card, the venue discounts printed on the venues' own pages — 50% at Clérigos, 20% at Serralves — are still there in Q3 2026.

A transport ticket is refused, or you are fined

The Andante fine runs from €120 to €350, which is more than every ticket on this page combined. The two failures that cause it are riding the heritage tram on an Andante 24 — trams and the funicular are explicitly excluded from Andante titles — and boarding the metro without validating a paper title. Buses have taken card payment on board since January 2026 at €2.50 a ride, so a bus is the recovery when a card fails at a machine.

Porto has a dedicated tourist police post at Praça de Pedro Nunes 16, open daily 08:00 to 24:00 on +351 222 461 190, with an English-speaking desk; 112 is the emergency number. Neither the board nor the venues publish a complaints procedure for ticket disputes, which is itself worth knowing — the recourse is the seller's own terms, so keep the confirmation email.
